Irene is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Bergen. She has expertise in pathology and immunohistochemistry. She did her PhD in the Neuromics lab, studying mitochondrial mechanisms in neurodegeneration. Her work currently focuses on the role of the mitochondrial respiratory chain in neurodegenerative disease.
